Rooted in the underground music scene of Chicago and New York in the late 70s to early 80s, House dance welcomed dancers of all backgrounds seeking escape in the clubs. House is about feeling and connection with the music, and is characterized by footwork, jacking, and floor work.

Let’s learn the basics of House. Everyone is welcome! Gotta have house music all night long.

Teacher Bio:

Javi is a multidisciplinary artist, with interests in visual arts, theater, and dance.

Since high school, he has performed and choreographed for different outlets, such as children’s theater shows, church dance ministry, and company annual events. 

In the last two years, he rekindled his love for dance and grew a particular interest in freestyle and club styles such as House and Waacking. 

He believes in the healing and nurturing power of the arts. He is passionate about community building and arts education.
